Oregon Roppokai is happy to announce that we have joined the Zanshin dojo in Salem Oregon for our new location.  Classed will start in January 2022 on select Saturdays from 10-11:30.  Email Oregon Roppokai for exact dates.

With the passing of Okamoto Sensei the group has chosen a new head of the organization, Hayashi Sensei.  Hayashi Sensei has trained under Okamoto Sensei for over 30 years and succeeded Okamoto Sensei on his passing in 2015. 

Also of importance is Yamamoto Sensei who has also trained and instructed under Okamoto Sensei for many years and is the Director of International Branches.

It is with great sadness that I have to announce that Okamoto Sensei passed away on January 16h, 2015.  There is an emptiness in my world but I and many who knew him will live and train with the joy in our hearts that we have had while in his presence.

The dates for the 2014 Gashoku in Tokyo have just been set by Hombu school.  May 10th and 11th.  I will be there.  Take a look at the page on this blog for updates.

March 1st, 2013.  Oregon Roppokai is proud to announce it has joined up with Steeles Karate in Salem Oregon.  John Olivera Sensei has opened up his dojo and allowed his interested members to join Oregon Roppokai.  This is an exciting time and I look forward to great training with some fun and interesting people.
